Linda Hass captures a fascinating view of the world around her. She has been painting since 1966 and is mostly self-taught although influence by the few artists she studied with. This artist chooses to paint a variety of subjects in landscapes, still lives, country, Victorian and southwest, figure studies,etc.…in various styles. All of her paintings are technically suburb and immensely creative. She uses color in vastly different ways creating gentle scenes of great energy and brilliance; some realistic…some impressionistic, making them a feast for the senses. Linda sums up her paintings simply, 'I have tried to interpret things as I see and feel inside…sometimes fun…sometimes tranquil scenes that invite the viewer to come in and explore…a sincere approach to painting to which all people can understand.'

Linda is a true Texan, born and raised in central Texas. Moved to Houston where she met and married her husband in 1962. They have 2 children and 3 grandchildren. In 1976 they move to a hilltop near La Grange, TX. Right away they opened their own Gallery, Frames & Gift shop in La Grange where Linda maintain her studio and taught oil & acrylic painting classes. They retired the Gallery in 2008. Linda continues to paint daily and continues teaching two painting classes a week in her home studio. She loves sharing her love of painting with her students. She and her students have taken home awards at the County Fair for their paintings, over the years.

Linda has shown her paintings in many cities around Texas. Other than her marvelous paintings on canvas, she has painted several murals, creative wall décor and wonderful motifs on furniture. Her last mural can be seen at the Sea Land Restaurant in La Grange and in her CountryArtsGallery.com website. Two of her paintings were chosen for the Historical Calendar for a local bank. The same two paintings are in limited prints that are now collector’s items. Her work may be found in private collections around the United State and a few other countries.
